When human is old, the skin of face and arms and other places will appear some flat black-brown patches which is known as senile plaques or life-spot. With human is old slowly, the number of senile plaques is in a gradual increase, and the area of senile plaques expand gradually. In the metabolic process of human, a kind of matter which name is free radicals accumulate on the surface of skin. This kind of matter which name is free radicals is lipofuscin pigment. Then show the senile plaques on the skin.
When human is young, the natural anti-oxidant and antioxidant enzyme are in the body. Free radicals will be changed to inert compounds by the natural anti-oxidant and antioxidant enzyme, make free radicals do not produce a kind of matter named lipid peroxidation. The lipofuscin pigment can not only gathered in the skin, but also invade interior of human’s body. If the lipofuscin pigment deposit in the vessel wall, it will lead to be worse to angiogenesis fibrous lesions, and even lead to arteriosclerosis, hypertension, and myocardial infarction. If the lipofuscin pigment deposit in the brain cells, it will affect brain function, accelerate old process of brain. The result is the elderly memory, mental disorder, and depression, and even Alzheimer's disease.
If human want to make senile plaque is no or a little, the thing is to do that increase the body's antioxidant. Many studies show that vitamin E is the best anti-oxidant to human. The vitamin E can prevent polyunsaturated fatty acids change into lipofuscin pigments. So we think naturally vitamin E have stronger anti-aging functions. Therefore, the elder should take a certain vitamin E according to doctor's advice, and eat more food contain rich vitamin E. Such as vegetable oil is the best food source of vitamin E. In addition, soybean, sesame, peanuts, walnuts, melon seeds, animal liver, egg yolk, butter and corn, yellow-green vegetables are rich in vitamin E. So we say that we can "eat" away not only senile plaques, but also health and longevity.
